AMERICUS — Julian Lewis Webb Jr., 86, of Americus, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at his home. A native of Oglethorpe, he was born May 1, 1932, to the late Julian Lewis Webb Sr. and Audrey Bell Ethridge Webb.

Mr. Webb was a member of First United Methodist Church of Americus. He was the owner of Mid State Pallet and Golden Harvest Pecan Co. He also served in many capacities in the community as a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Georgia Sheriff’s Association, past president of the Georgia Pecan Growers Association, and past president of Macon County Farm Bureau. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Bank of Macon County, the Board of Stewards at Oglethorpe United Methodist Church, 16 years on the Ocmulgee River Soil Conservation Service, and was the campaign manager in Macon County for Congressman Richard Ray.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at First United Methodist Church in Americus with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Roe Jr., the Rev. Bill Dupree, and Mary Lynn Shealy officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus.

Survivors include his wife, Janis Webb of Americus; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Tonya and Herman Cannady of Chatsworth, Vickey Webb of Americus, and Heather and Jared Wohrley of Americus; two sons and daughters-in-law: Julian L. Webb III “Chip” and Karen of Camden, S.C., and George “Cub” and Shelia Smith of Albany. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Michael (Kristen) Coker, Julie (Tracy) Feltman, Koral Williams, Lewis Smith, Kelsey Barfield, Drew Wohrley, Caroline Webb, and Audrey Webb; and five great-grandchildren: Zack Coker, Ryan Coker, Mikayla Feltman, Ashleigh Feltman, and Tyler Feltman.
