AMERICUS — Earnest White passed away Dec. 23, 2018. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Dec. 27, 2018, at Barnum Funeral Home Chapel, Americus with the Rev. Adrian Pitts as eulogist. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Americus.

Mr. White was born Nov. 30, 1943, to the parentage of the late Mr. Eddie Lee White and the late Mrs. Jeanette Harris White. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. Earnest was employed with Sheffield Hardware for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Christian Benevolence Lodge. He also utilized his right to vote. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie James White.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two sisters, Mrs. Annie Bell Moss and Ms. Eunice White, both of Americus, Ga.; one daughter, Ms. Melanie White, Americus, Ga.; his god family, Ms. Stacy Duncan and grandchild, Oglethorpe; a host of cousins, including a special cousin, Ms. Fannie Harris Butler, Americus, Ga.; and other relatives and friends also survive.

The family requests memorials be made to the Americus Sumter Transitional Housing Ministry, 132 W. Lester St., Americus GA 31709.
