AMERICUS – On Saturday, January 26, Georgia Southwestern State University will present the second-annual Canes Campout in the Storm Dome.

This event is a fun-filled event for the entire family, and it is free.

It will begin Saturday afternoon, January 26, with the Lady Hurricanes playing Peach Belt Conference opponent Augusta University at 3: 30 p.m. This will be followed by the men’s game against AU at 5:30 p.m.

After the men’s game is over with, everyone will head down to the GSW Lakehouse to the campfire to roast marshmallows while the Storm Dome floor is being covered in preparation for the campers’ return. The trip back to the Storm Dome will provide the campers the opportunity to set up camp. Once all the campers are settled, the lights in the arena will be cut so everyone can enjoy a movie on the big screen. Once the movie is over, all of the participants will retire to their quarters.

On Sunday morning, January 27, campers will be able to eat breakfast with the Hurricanes basketball team to close out the event.
