ELLAVILLE – Schley County (SC) forward Dasani Minter poured in 24 points to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 44-42 Region 4-1A victory over Brookstone on Saturday, January 5, at Schley County High School.

The Lady Wildcats were coming off a 62-33 loss to Marion County the night before, but rebounded nicely against the Lady Cougars. Emily Campbell scored nine points and Amiyah Walker scored five points and tallied seven steals in the Lady Wildcats’ win.

SC jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the first quarter. Both teams were evenly matched in the second quarter, but the Lady Wildcats had a 21-14 halftime lead.

The Lady Cougars made a run in the second half and outscored SC 16-12 in the third quarter.

The Lady Wildcats had a 33-30 lead going into the final eight minutes. The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth affair, but the Lady Wildcats were able to pull out the 44-42 victory.

Up next for SC is a trip to Roberta, GA on Tuesday, January 8, to take on Crawford County. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
