U.S. Navy recruiter Jon Andree (right) of Centerville, speaks to a group of Americus-Sumter High School (ASHS) students about the possibility of choosing a career in the Navy. Navy recruiters recently paid a visit to ASHS to present a slideshow about Navy careers and to offer one-on-one sessions with students. Recruiters from all branches of the military regularly visit ASHS to inform and encourage students who may be interested in choosing the military as a career path. In addition to formal presentations recruiters often circulate among the student body during lunch hours. The recruiters’ efforts are considered supplementary to the school’s on-site JROTC program housed on the campus year-round.
