Bell leads Southland lady Raider swim team to seventh place finish

ATLANTA – Southland Academy freshman Allison Bell led the Southland Lady Raider swim team to a seventh place finish at the GISA State Swimming Championships on Saturday, January 26, at the Georgia Tech McAuley Aquatic Center.

Bell earned individual silver medals in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke. Bell also won a bronze medal in the 50-yard freestyle.

The varsity girls relay squad of Bell, Sam Pinnell, Ada Larsen and Talyn McCumber combined to earn 10th place in the 200-yard freestyle relay to top off the Southland team score.

In junior varsity competition, Taylor Humphrey scored points with a seventh place finish in the 50-yard butterfly. Several members of the Raider swim team qualified for the championships, including varsity members Hunter Hockman and Matthew Peck.

Representing the Southland JV squad at the meet were Hallie Hockman, Emily Kent, Ara Lunneborg, Ian Lunneborg, Davis Peck, Shaw Pinnell and Barrett Starlin.
