The Sumter County 10u boys’ team got to this point by beating Thomasville 38-22 in the championship game of the GRPA District 3 10u Tournament. The 12u boys’ team defeated Tift County 53-48 to win the 12u District 3 Tournament. “The real opportunity for success lies within the kids and how hard they work as a team to achieve a common goal,” 12u boys’ head coach Ernest Scott said. “The kids played hard to win their district and deserve the right to compete at state. Our job is to create a positive environment, to have fun teaching and hope they are learning the game of basketball. As a coach, I represent SCPRD as a positive role model for the kids, parents and all who come to enjoy our sport.”
