AMERICUS — Harvest of Hope Food Pantry has received $3,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation just in time to help feed local residents. Harvest of Hope will use the gift to provide food for needy families in the Americus/Sumter County area.
“We appreciate the donation from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation. This donation will enable us to continue to provide food to those who have a need and help us to continue to fulfill our mission of responding to the call of Jesus Christ, by feeding the hungry, promoting physical and spiritual health, and bringing people together in a community of love,” said Sonny Pinckard, executive director.
Established in 2001, the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $12 million in grants.
