Recently, well-loved local author, Kay S. Heath, visited Southland Academy 5K and first-grade classes at Southland Academy to read excerpts from her books. She also brought along a special friend, W.E. Readit. After entertaining the students, Heath autographed some of her books for the children. Southland Academy is proud to have Heath’s books, which are also Accelerated Reader books, in the school library. Heath, who is affectionately known as ‘Mama Kay-Kay,’ is shown here with her granddaughter, Southland Academy first-grader Kayden Miller, and W. E. Readit.
