AMERICUS – The Sumter County gymnastics team turned in an outstanding performance at the annual Shamrock Invitational Gymnastics Meet held at The Columns at Boone Park on Saturday, March 2.
“The Sumter gymnastics team had some really good moments at the meet,” SC head coach Melissa Singley said. “We had many gymnasts set personal bests in their scores and achieve personal goals on their events. We are still perfecting skills and routines as we prepare for the state meet in May. I was very proud of the sportsmanship and team unity these girls showed as they cheered for their teammates throughout the day. This event would not be possible without the help from parent volunteers and my wonderful coaches who really step up when they are needed. It really is a team effort and I have a great team that coaches with me.”
