Locals participate in GSW’s inaugural White Coat Ceremony

MERICUS — For the first time in Georgia Southwestern State University’s history, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences held a White Coat Ceremony Feb. 26 to recognize 40 junior nursing students’ transition from the classroom to the clinical setting. The white coat signifies their role and status as a healthcare professional.
The following local students were among those recognized:
Elizabeth Bivins of Ellaville, Gloria Brown of Ellaville, Karissa Campbell of Ellaville, Haley Collins of Americus, Michael Smith of Plains, and Kendall Usry of Smithville.
