AMERICUS
Southwest Georgia Baptist Association Church
The Third District Laymen, General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia hosts a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. April 27. See any General Missionary Baptist Convention deacon for tickets, $10 each.

New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church
Brother Charles Cooper Jr. and Brother Lawrence Floyd are ordained as deacons at 3 p.m. April 28, when Bishop Melvin McCluster, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, brings the ordination sermon. Everyone is invited.
The Mission Anniversary is observed during the 11 a.m. worship service May 5 with theme, “I am determined to hold out.” Minister Melissa Garret, a dynamic speaker and teacher, delivers the message.

Old Antioch Missionary Baptist Church
The Pastor’s 12th Anniversary Celebration is at 7 p.m. May 15 with guests, Pastor Daniel Clinton and Shipp Chapel Baptist Church; 7 p.m. May 16 with guests, the Rev. George Edge and Restoration Church; and culminating at 11 a.m. May 19 with Son of the House, Minister Trenton Floyd. Anniversary colors are teal, coral, black, and white.

Perry B. Grove Baptist Church
A pre-Mother’s Day program is at 2 p.m. May 4 when all mothers present will be recognized during the program. Pastor Mathis K. Wright Jr. is speaker along with New Union Grove Baptist Church as special guests. Everyone is invited.

ANDERSONVILLE
St. Paul A.M.E. Church
Everyone is invited to annual revival services at 7:30 p.m. May 6-9. Speaker for the week is the Rev. Darius Harris of Lake Worth, Fla.
Mothers’ Day is observed May 12 with Sunday school at 10 a.m., followed by the 11 a.m. worship service.

Ebenezer Baptist Church
An early Happy Mother’s Day Celebration is at 11 a.m. in April 28 with guest speaker, Sister Latonya Bowen of Americus, and the word of God delivered by pastor, the Rev. Willie Kleckley. Everyone is invited.

COBB
New Zion Baptist Church
Men and Women’s Day is celebrated during the 11 a.m. worship service April 28. Sister Rosa Vance of Jackson Grove Baptist Church gives the occasion and Deacon Emory Wright of St. Matthews Baptist Church is guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.

ELLAVILLE
William Grove Baptist Church
Annual revival services start at 7:30 p.m. April 30-May 2 with guest minister, Pastor Gregory Porter of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Buena Vista. The revival concludes at 11 a.m. May 5 with Guest Day. The public is invited.

LESLIE
Freedom Harvest Worship Center
A Pastor Appreciation celebration is May 5, beginning with the 9 a.m. worship service. Apostle Izell Williams and New Direction are in charge of the 3 p.m. service. Everyone is invited.

Old Corinth Missionary Baptist Church
The Women’s Day Program is held during the 10 a.m. worship service May 19. Speaker is Sister Carolyn Williams of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Parrott. Tamera Clark is mistress of ceremonies. All are welcome.

Lebanon Baptist Church
The 148th church anniversary is celebrated April 28 at 403 Botsford Road, Plains. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. followed by the 11 a.m. worship service with the Rev. Hosie Waters presiding. All area churches are invited.

Old Antioch Missionary Baptist Church
Men and Women Day Program is at 3:30 p.m. April 28 with guest speakers, Sister Amy Green of Old Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and the Rev. Tony Smith of Jerusalem Baptist Church. Colors for this occasion are pink and black. All men and women are invited.
The annual Deacon and Deaconess Fellowship Program is at 2 p.m. May 19 with guest speaker, Minister Dianne Laster of Anointed Hearts Church of Americus.

Mount Zion Webster Missionary Baptist Church
The church’s 151st anniversary and the 10th anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Alfred Starling are celebrated April 28. Sunday school begins at 11 a.m. followed by church anniversary service at noon with the pastor bringing the message. The pastor’s anniversary service is at 2:30 p.m. with guest minister, the Rev. Jimmie Crimes, pastor, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and St. Mark Baptist Church in Weston. New Vision Life Center
Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 4:00 PM at New Vision Life Center in Lumpkin, Georgia. Eta Rho Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. hosts its annual Mother-Daughter Scholarship Tea at 4 p.m. May 4. Scholarships are awarded to area high school graduates each year. Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and best friends are invited for family fun, fellowship, and food for all. Activities: nail spa, candy buffet, table setting, etiquette conversations, and demonstrations, prize-winning purse raids, modeling beautiful dresses and hats, sampling a variety of teas, mother-daughter skit, door prizes, and photo prop pictures.
