AMERICUS — South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) hosts its 2019 spring graduation exercise at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 2 in the James S. Peters Gymnasium on the Americus campus.
Kelsi Cannon of Ellaville, SGTC’s 2019 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner, is scheduled to be the guest speaker at the event. The SGTC practical nursing student will address the graduates and their families, fellow students, faculty, and staff during the commencement ceremony,
Approximately 175 students will be receiving an associate degree or diploma at the graduation exercise. Thirty-four students have been designated as Presidential Honor Graduates with a 3.90 – 4.0 GPA or will be recognized as Honor Graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.70 to 3.89,
This is the second graduation for SGTC during the 2018-2019 school year. SGTC will have awarded nearly 400 different associate degrees or diplomas this year.
