She worked as a dedicated employee of the Webster County School District with a lifelong love of learning and reading that she passed to her children and her grandchildren. Her selfless acts of kindness as a member of the Phoebe Sumter Auxiliary Pink Ladies was felt by the many people whom she met. She could also be seen every Sunday beside her husband in the pews of Preston Baptist Church and serving beside her many friends in the community. She fought cancer and its effects valiantly for 16 years, always with her sweet smile and a kind heart, never complaining and always with her husband fighting by her side.
