ALBANY — Benjamin Dale Cooke, age 55, of Ellaville, died Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Bennie was born Feb. 14, 1964, the son of the late William and Vivian Cooke. He graduated in 1982, from Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, Ga. Bennie was a plumber and a jack of all trades where he ran big equipment. He was involved in his church, Greater Vision Baptist Church, and loved being involved with the community as well. Bennie’s hobbies were fishing, hunting, camping, and collecting antiques. He was a hard worker, over-achiever, and would give you the shirt off his back. Bennie was a brother, uncle, father, and a compassionate, loving husband.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019, at Greater Vision Baptist Church with Brother Rhys Key officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greater Vision Baptist Church, 135 New Era Road, Americus GA.  31709 or to Mattie Marshall Center, Magnolia Manor, www.magnoliamanor.com/donate.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Cooke of Ellaville; three sons, Chad, Jamie, and Ashton Cooke; two stepdaughters, Jessi and Emilee Driver; a stepson, Josh Driver; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Glenda Cooke, Bryan and Alexia Cooke, and Malissa Lee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rebecca and Allen Dodge, Brenda and Wally Reeves, Barbara Thacker, and Jimmy Lee; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
