AMERICUS — Fried chicken, diapers, fountain drinks, dish soap. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get these things delivered straight to your door within an hour?

If you think that sounds like something you wouldn’t find around here, guess again! In November, Perry Brothers rolled out an exciting new service — Gas N Go Delivery. Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. every day, the bright blue and green Gas N Go van can be spotted around town, filling a need for quick, local delivery.

Maddie Fultz, director of Marketing for Perry Brothers, says, “A lot of big companies are doing delivery services but not in small rural areas like we are in, so we wanted to bring that kind of thing here.” Currently, the hot food items like chicken are picked up from the 1402 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Gas N Go location while the rest of the extensive list is delivered from the store at 202 U.S. Highway 19. While small orders have a $2.99 delivery fee, there is free delivery for all orders over $15.

Though not everyone within the county can get this helpful service just yet, the delivery area covers a significant portion of Sumter County. With the exception of alcohol, lottery tickets, and gasoline — anything found in the local Gas N Go store can be at your door within an hour. Maybe you forgot milk at the grocery store and it’s almost bedtime for the kids. Maybe you have a midday craving for candy, but you’re stuck at work. Maybe you have a college student who caught a nasty cold and needs reinforcements: chicken noodle soup, crackers, medicine. Whatever your reason, Gas n Go Delivery is ready to deliver what you need. After all, their slogan is, “Gas N Go delivers convenience.”
