Historical Society Auction Committee meets
 On July 9, the Ellaville-Schley County Historical Society Auction Committee met at the courthouse. It’s time again to be getting ready for the annual auction, the big fundraiser for the organization.
The auction will be held Sept. 14 at the Thomas Edwin Wall Post 191 American Legion. There will be a singing before the auction, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. featuring “Lonesome Road.”

Supper will be served during the singing and auction, and to-go plates will also be available.

Donation of items to be auctioned are needed. You don’t have to be a member to make a donation. The organization is a nonprofit.

Other special events will be announced later.

Schley County 4-H’ers Attended
     Wilderness Challenge Camp

                      Schley County  4-H’ers attended  the Wilderness Challenge Camp .

Five of our Schley  County 4-H’erstook the challenge to participate in a week of 4-H Summer Camp
that is not like any other camp.   This was a week of action packed fun .

At the Wilderness Challenge Camp they had the opportunity  to White Water Raft on the Tennessee’s
Ocoee River , Trail Hikes on the Appalachian Trail , Challenge games , nightly Campfires and so much more .

At the end of the week  there was a slide show to recap what  all these brave campers experienced .

Ryder Garner , Abbie James , Parker Ellis , Charlie Baird and Ayden Nixon were  the 4-H’ers who attended .

The said “Rafting was the Best .  They didn’t want to leave.   They can’t wait until next year .

Maybe next year you might like to go to the Wilderness Challenge Camp any other Camps that  4-H offer.

Alaska Tundra Mission Team Have
       Returned Home From Their Trip

                   On Monday July 1,2019 the Alaska Tundra Mission Team left  for the village of Teller, Alaska.

Each day  the Team prepared  Vaca tion Bible School for the children in the village .

Some of the team were able  to do some needed repairs as well .

On July 4th  the Team participated in the Celebration  with the Community  , served lunch , they had Grilled Hamburgers and Hot Dogs  and more as well as Games for all ages .

The Team consisted of Eddie Watson , Sharon Watson, David Earle , Kyle Hilliard, Jake Hall , Don Wade ,
William Hardin , Maddie Hall, Dunlie Castleberry ,  Simmon Hill and Lynton Godwins .

The Team returned home on July 8th .          The Alaska  Tundra Mission continues to send Teams  to Alaska
through out the year to share the Love of Jesus Christ with other people .

These teams surely enjoy  going to Alaska  on these special Mission Trips.
