Georgia Southwestern State releases 2019 men’s soccer match schedule

AMERICUS – Are you ready for some futbol (soccer)? First-year head coach Eric Crawford has released the 2019 GSW men’s soccer schedule. The Hurricanes will play 15 matches during the regular season and eight of those matches will be played at Hurricane Field. Of those eight home matches, six of them will be played under the lights.
The Hurricanes will open the 2019 regular season at home on Thursday, September 5, against Brewton-Parker. There will be a pre-match tailgate, followed by the match at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks afterwards.
On Tuesday, September 10, the Hurricanes will travel to Cochran, GA to take on Middle Georgia State before returning home to host Faulkner University on Saturday, September 14.
GSW will then hit the road for two away matches. They will play Auburn-Montgomery on Wednesday, September 18 and Shorter University on Saturday, September 21 before hosting Talladega College on Wednesday, September 25 for their final home match of September.
The Hurricanes will begin the month of October on the road in Central, SC against Southern Wesleyan. That match is scheduled for Wednesday, October 2. They will then return home to play two Peach Belt Conference opponents. The first of those opponents will be Clayton State on Saturday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m. The Hurricanes will then host Young Harris College, the defending 2018 PBC champions, on Saturday, October 12. The Hurricanes will then step out of conference to host Pensacola Christian on Thursday, October 17, before heading back into conference play at USC Aiken on Saturday, October 19. Francis Marion comes into town on Saturday, October 26. Kickoff for that match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Hurricanes will finish off the regular season with three PBC matches in November. They will travel to Greenwood, SC to take on Lander University on Saturday, November 2, at 7 p.m. GSW will play its last home match of the season against Flagler College on Wednesday, November 6, at 3 p.m. The final match of the regular season will be at the University of North Georgia on Saturday, November 9, at 7 p.m.
