AMERICUS — On Friday, the Americus Police Department received several forwarded links to a video allegedly posted on Facebook by a female Americus resident in which she states that she has the HIV virus and then names several individuals that she says she has had unprotected sex with.

One of the individuals named in the video contacted the police department and filed a complaint of harassing communications against Brandi Yakeima Lasiter of Americus who he stated has been harassing him. Americus Police Chief Mark Scott told the Times-Recorder that Lasiter was to be interviewed by police on Tuesday.

The case is under investigation and no further information is available at this time.

Under Georgia Code 16-5-60 it is a crime to knowingly attempt to transmit the HIV virus.
