AMERICUS — The Business Division of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce has named Roman Oven the July Small Business of the Month. Anthony Dragoin, owner, prides his business on having high quality food in a fun atmosphere.The pizza dough and all the sauces — along with many of the salad dressings — are made from scratch. Although the pizza buffet is a crowd favorite, many of his customers favor the sandwiches, pastas, wings, salads, and burgers.

Roman Oven was nominated along with Shiver Lumber Co. for the July Business of the Month. They were chosen because of their long-standing support of many charities and schools in the area, and both are independent family companies competing with chains in a rural area. “Roman Oven and Shivers are great examples of well-run companies that also support their local communities,” said Amber DeBaise, head of the small business of the month Chamber program. “These home-grown businesses keep our community vibrant and motivate many through their generosity.”
