Local runners turn in strong performances in Macon Labor Day 5k run

MACON – Several local male and female runners who took part in the Labor Day 5k run in Macon on Monday, September 2, turned in strong performances.
Kevin Richmond of Cobb finished in 10th place in the male age 15-19 bracket. Richmond finished in a time of 19:58.71. In the male age 55-59 bracket, William Reid of Americus finished in ninth place in a time of 21:54.88. In the male 70-74 age bracket, Fred Richmond of Cobb finished in ninth place with a time of 33:46.64.
In the female divisions of the 5k run, DeAnn Reid of Americus finished in second place in the 50-54 age bracket with a time of 21:38.44. In the 55-59 age bracket, Cynthia Richmond of Cobb finished in sixth place with a time of 26:51.28 and Charley Varnum of Americus competed in the 25-29 age bracket and finished in 22nd place with a time of 38:05.86
