LaCROSSE, Fla. — Augustus C. (A.C.) Short died Sept. 13, 2019, in LaCrosse, Fla. He was born June 18, 1941, in Americus, Ga.

A memorial celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at Hebron Baptist Church, Ga. Highway 49 South, Americus, Ga.

Survivors include his wife Carol Dill Short, and children: James Todd Short, Sherry Ann Knowles, and Melissa Carol Carver; grandchildren, Ashlie C. Turner, Jaymi D. Short, Taylor B. Carver, Stefan Knowles, Adams Knowles, and Andrew Short; and great-grandchildren: Amelia Turner, Kenzlie Short, Cara Turner, and Kyndal Cobb. His sister Carolyn Strobel also survives.
