AMERICUS — Mrs. Mary Frank Shy Johnson, 93, of Americus, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Matt Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before services, from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services.

Mrs. Johnson was born May 24, 1926, in Macon, Ga. She was the daughter of the late William Harris Shy and the late Effie Lou Musselwhite Shy. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Johnson Construction Co. Mrs. Johnson was also a registered nurse and worked for Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Americus.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Janice Oliver Wardlow (James) of Cobb and Susan Pantlik (Ray) of Charleston, S.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law Paul H. Johnson Jr. (Sharon) of Americus and George R. Johnson (Sandra) of Americus; six grandchildren Matt Johnson of Americus, Spence Johnson of Warner Robins, Erin Oliver Bluffton of South Carolina, Harris Pantlik of Louisiana, Andrew Pantlik of South Carolina, and Ryan Johnson of Americus; five great-grandchildren Logan Johnson, Levi Johnson, both of Americus, Hannah Cannon (Chas) of Americus, Trent Chumney and Bryce Chumney, both of South Carolina. A great-great-granddaughter Emarie Cannon also survives.
