Phyllis Maxine Coons passed away November 18, 2019 at 7:50 A.M., peacefully at her residence in Leslie. She was born December 15, 1932 in Erie, KS., She was the daughter of the late Hester Ernestine (Janssen) McAdams and Shasta Earl McAdams. She was of the Christian faith. She loved her lord and reading the bible daily. She was talented in many areas, one of which was being a seamstress and making clothes for herself and her children when they were younger. She was an avid gardener. She loved reading and going to the library, often taking her granddaughter Amanda, who inherited her grandmother’s love of reading.

Graveside services will be held at the Leslie City Cemetery on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M with Rev. David Cox officiating.

She is survived by one son, Martin Wayne (Kathy) Coons of Whitney, TX., two daughters, Susan Lynne Schindel (Shawn) Sharp of Leslie, Sharon Elaine (Ronald) Seiler of Pleasanton, TX., three grandchildren, Cameron (Jaimie) Coons of Broomfield, CO., Leslye (Nathan) Burch of Frederick, CO., and Amanda Seiler of Pleasanton, TX., two great-grandchildren, Isabelle Coons and Minor Coons of Broomfield, CO.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Phoebe Sumter Hospice 126 E Furlow St. Americus, GA 31709.
