Mr. Delos Cowan age 90 of Michie, TN passed away on Tuesday, January 22 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Crawfordsville, IN to the late Lawrence Cowan & Ruth Bruner. After graduating High School, he worked on his parent’s farm until he enlisted in the US Army in 1954, he served for 2 years. After being honorably discharged, he returned home where he worked on a Shrimp Boat for many years, from this a love for boating and being on the water was born. He then went on to be a long-haul truck driver for 30 years, owning his own truck and trailer for most of those years. His family stated he just loved to ride down the road at times, with no destination in mind. His love for the farm never left him though, he loved to farm and garden, and would often occupy his time at home watching antique tractor shows on TV. Survivors include: Wife Opal (Stephens) Cowan, 4 Sons Roy (Carol), Arnold (Carol), Jimmy (Barbee) & Timmy (Hollie) Cowan, 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Delores Hillis & Marjorie Cowan. A graveside service was held in the Stephens Cemetery on Brush Creek in Linden, TN on Saturday, January 25.
