Release from Mayor and City Council March 31, 2020 –

The Mayor and City Council held a called meeting on Monday, March 30, 2020 and voted to hire Diadra Powell, Finance Director of the City of Americus as the Interim City Manager.  Mrs. Powell will begin this position effective immediately.

Mrs. Powell currently works as the City of Americus Finance Director and has been employed since 2013.  She previously worked as a Senior Management Assistant with the City of New Bern, North Carolina.  She has earned a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from East Carolina University.  She currently lives in Leesburg, Georgia.

Mayor Barry Blount stated that the Mayor and Council look forward to work with Mrs. Powell and are confident that she has the experience and education to perform the job of Interim City Manager.
