Confirmed Coronavirus cases in Sumter County has risen to 361, along with 23 deaths
AMERICUS – At approximately 6:28 p.m. on Sunday evening, April 26, the Georgia Department of Public Health (GDPH) reported that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sumter County was at 356 with 21 fatalities. However, as of 11:28 a.m. on Monday, April 27, the GDPH reports that the number of confirmed positive cases in the county has risen to 361 and that there have been two additional deaths as a result of the Coronavirus.
Sumter County currently ranks 11th out of Georgia’s 159 counties for the most confirmed cases. Recently, the GDPH reported that the county’s rate of confirmed COVID-19 cases per capita ranked among the top 30 counties in the country.
