AMERICUS – The Georgia Southwestern State University women’s basketball team got back in the win column defeating Talladega College, 86-34, on Tuesday evening in the Storm Dome.

A pair of Lady Hurricanes scored in double digits. Junior Lexi McCully scored 17 points, shot 60 percent from the field and she hit four out of seven three-point shots. McCully made an impact when she didn’t shoot the ball as well, as she hauled in four rebounds, recorded three assists and had two steals. Ndidiamaka Ndukwe connected on four of her nine shot attempts and added four rebounds and two assists. Ndukwe has scored in double-figures in two of the last three games

The Lady Hurricanes dominated the entire game and by halftime, the Tornadoes fate was already sealed.

The Lady Hurricanes set a school record by only allowing 34 points, which is the fewest points allowed by a GSW team since joining the NCAA in 2006-07. GSW outscored Talladega by 21 points in the second quarter, which ties a program record for the largest margin in a quarter.
