TALLAHASSEE, FL – Poor free throw shooting combined with 22 turnovers caused the South Georgia Technical College Jets to suffer a 78 – 73 overtime loss to Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, FL, Thanksgiving week.

“We have suffered with turning the ball over and failing to make free throws earlier this season,” said South Georgia Technical College Jets head coach Chris Ballauer, “and that was a problem again against Tallahassee.”  The Jets were 11 of 23 from the foul line and had 22 turnovers.  Tallahassee was 16 of 23 from the free throw line and had 17 turnovers

The Jets slipped to 4 – 3 overall and Tallahassee moved to 7 – 1.   The Eagles only loss was to South Georgia Tech on November 6 in Americus when the Jets captured a 92 – 82 victory.

South Georgia Tech established a narrow 31 – 28 lead at the end of the first half but Tallahassee came back in the second half and tied the game at 62 – 62 to force the game into overtime.  Tallahassee outscored the Jets 16 – 11 in the overtime period to walk away with the 78 – 73 victory.

Four Jets ended the game in double-digits.  Freshman guard Camarion Johnson from Brunswick led the Jets with 19 points.  He was followed by Ryan Djoussa with 15 points and Jafeth Martinez, who came off the bench and scored 14. Mohand Ammad closed out the double digit scoring with 11 points.

Kameron Foman tossed in eight points and led the team in rebounds with 15 including 10 defensive rebounds.  Israel Momodu and Daryl Bod closed out the scoring with 4 and 2 points each.

Tallahassee had three players in double-digits, Demoni Harrison with 22, Justin Britt with 15, and Seth Jones with 14.

The Jets will play at home on Thursday, November 30th at 7 p.m.  They will match-up against North Florida Prep.  The Jets will host Gulf Coast on Wednesday, December 6 at 7 p.m. before going on the road for three games against Chattahoochee Valley Community College, Coastal Alabama – South, and USC Salkehatchie, December 9, 16, and 19 to close out the non-conference part of the season.
