AMERICUS – This holiday season, hope will shine bright at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center as we pay tribute to local cancer patients and their families with their own special Lights of Love tree.
We look forward to hearing from our honorary tree lighter Gloria Simpson. Here she is in her own words:
“My name is Gloria Simpson. I’m a patient here at Phoebe Sumter Americus Oncology Department and I will, on December 14, 2023, I will light the Lights of Love Tree here in Americus. And I would just love for you to be there to support me.”
Local award-winning singer and musician Ray Greene will be on hand at the Lights of Love Tree lighting Ceremony.

An added bonus is that Americus native and award-winning singer and musician Ray Greene will be on hand for entertainment. Ray has performed with some of the all-time greats, including Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole and Carlos Santana. He will be on hand to sing some well-known Christmas tunes. You don’t want to miss it!
Thousands of lights will be lit in honor and memory of loved ones, and donations to the beloved holiday event will benefit oncology patients receiving treatment at Phoebe.
