Sumter County wrestlers pick up victories over Crisp County and Hardaway

AMERICUS – The Sumter County wrestling team (SCHS) picked up two victories at Wednesdays home match against Crisp County and Hardaway High School.

The panther wrestlers won nine of the 14 bouts against Crisp County, leading to a 54-24 victory. The Panthers then faced off against a tough Hardaway team and SCHS came out on top with a 42 – 36 victory.

Recording wins for the Panthers were Jacques Dice (113 lbs), James Josey-Bey (120 lbs), Walter Carter (138 lbs), Marcellus Carter (144 lbs), Zayden Monts

(150 lbs), Carl Monts (157 lbs), Kyran Davis (175), Edward Horn (190 LBS), James Harper (215 and Kiyree Gordon (HWT).

The Panthers will travel to Perry this week-end to compete in the Perry Invitational Tournament.
