Marjorie Wadsworth Maxell was born May 23, 1930 in Cairo, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Robert Daniel Wadsworth and the late Eva Lindsey Harper Wadsworth. Marjorie  was a Baptist by faith and was a faithful member of Cheek Memorial Baptist Church. She had many interests including a love for yard work. Often you would catch her zooming around the yard on her tractor with her large hat flopping in the breeze. Gospel sings were another passion of Marjorie’s. She along with her husband, Wilburn, would attend programs all around to enjoy the music. Her traveling didn’t stop there. Often, she and her older sister, Martha would enjoy road trips and exploring together. Anyone would describe Marjorie as very crafty. Wood working was one of her biggest passions and she made many things that people enjoyed. One of her greatest projects was when she made an entire Christmas village that she proudly displayed in her front yard. She spent the last four years at Perfect Care where she formed wonderful friendships with both residents and staff.  She especially enjoyed the many activities and when visiting her, you would always find the latest prizes she won from Bingo on display. The family will be eternally grateful for the support and happiness Perfect Care brought to her in her final years.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Greg Maxwell (Willie) of Cobb, GA and Danny Maxwell (Terri) of Americus. A sister and brother-in-law, Clarice Burks (Emory) of Cairo, GA; three grandchildren, Allison Sternenberg (Wes), Lindsey Maxwell (Daniel Adams) and Miles Maxwell. Mrs. Maxwell is also survived by three great grandchildren, Oliver Maxwell, Anne Catherine Sternenberg, Sarah Sternenberg and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Maxwell was preceded in death by her husband Wilburn Daniel Maxwell and a sister, Martha Prince.
