With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dr. Boris Peltsverger, the former Dean of Georgia Southwestern State University’s (GSW) School of Computing and Mathematics, on December 15, 2023. His 22 years of dedicated service at GSW left an indelible mark on the university and its students.

Peltsverger’s rich academic and professional background spanned continents. Before joining GSW, he had a distinguished career in Russia, culminating in significant roles at his alma mater South Ural State University in Chelyabinsk.

We mourn the loss of a true leader, scholar, loving father, brother, and husband.

As we bid farewell to Boris Peltsverger, we reflect on a life well-lived, dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of future generation. He will be missed by his family, colleagues, and the countless students whose lives he enriched.

Boris is survived by his wife, Tatyana, his brother Yakov, his daughter, Svetlana, his son Ilya, his son-in-law Vadim, and granddaughter Lisa. He is predeceased by his parents Wulf Peltsverger and Eugenia Ratner.

A Celebration of Boris’s Life reception will be held 11:00 am – 1 pm EST on Monday, January 15,
