Johnson and Johnson lead Hurricanes to win at USC Beaufort

BLUFFTON, S.C. – The Georgia Southwestern State University men’s basketball team defeated USC Beaufort 84-79 on Saturday afternoon.

Two Hurricanes recorded double-digit points. Jalen Johnson was a man on a mission, as he scored a career-high 27 points. He also hauled in five rebounds, stole the ball four times and hit an impressive 14-of-15 shots from the charity stripe. Johnson has scored 20 or more points in six games this season.

Jordan Johnson was the final Hurricane to score in double figures. He accumulated 14 points, connected on four of his nine shot attempts and collected three rebounds. Johnson also had two steals and was successful on all four of his free-throw attempts. Jordan Johnson has posted double-digit points in five consecutive games.

The Sand Sharks led in the waning minutes of the game until Jordan Johnson hit a three-pointer in the final five minutes of the game that gave the Hurricanes the momentum needed to seal the victory.

Georgia Southwestern (11-3, 3-1 PBC) will return home to face off against USC Aiken (12-2, 3-1 PBC) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Storm Dome.
