Panthers get edged out by Cook

ADEL, GA – After edging out Jeff Davis 52-50 on Thursday, the Sumter County Panthers (SCHS) traveled down to Adel, GA on Saturday with hopes of earning a road victory over the Cook Hornets. Unfortunately for SCHS, though they overcame a slow start in the first quarter by picking up their defense, they fell one point short, losing to the Hornets by the score of 49-48 on Saturday.

Anthony Tyson led the Panthers in scoring with 10 points, Javin Lewis poured in nine and LeBron Brown scored eight points in the winning cause.

With the loss, the Panthers fall to 6-12 overall and 3-3 in the Region 1-AA standings.

The Panthers will try to get back into the win column when they travel down to Fitzgerald, GA on Tuesday to take on the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricanes. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
