ST. AUGUSTINE, FL. — The 10th-ranked Georgia Southwestern State University women’s basketball team claimed the Peach Belt Conference regular season championship outright on Saturday afternoon with an 80-64 victory at Flagler College, making it back-to-back seasons the Lady Hurricanes have finished atop the league standings.

Kori Tomlin led GSW with a career-best 20 points behind 4 of 6 shooting from long range. Tomlin added three assists, four rebounds and was perfect from the free throw line, making all four of her attempts in second half.

The Lady Hurricanes trailed by three points at the halftime break 42-39, but regained the lead midway through the third quarter. A 10-0 run that started with 7:16 left in the fourth put GSW up 65-53 and it proved to be all the cushion that was necessary to secure the win and the league title.
