AMERICUS – The Scott Law Foundation held its 12^th annual Shamrock Jog & Jam on Saturday, March 2. The event was a tremendous success, not only in terms of participation, but also in its impact on the community through fundraising for the Scott Law Foundation.

The Scott Law Foundation was established by Tracy Law and Alex Saratsiotis of Accelerated Physical Therapy in memory of Tracy’s brother, Scott Law, a local fireman who passed away in 2007.

It was heartwarming to see how the foundation has continued to support individuals facing life-threatening illnesses in Sumter and surrounding counties. To date, the Scott Law Foundation has assisted 190 individuals with financial contributions totaling over $151,000.

The Shamrock Jog & Jam itself was a vibrant and energetic affair, comprised of both a 1-mile fun run and a 5K race winding through the picturesque downtown Americus.

Congratulations to Cannon Crook and Isabelle Saratsiotis for their impressive victories in the 1-mile race. In the 5K, Brian Miller’s record-breaking performance was truly remarkable, showcasing the spirit of competition and athleticism in the community. Brian finished in a time of 16:32, which bested the old mark of 17:04 set by Wright Calhoun.

Back in 2014, Sloan Arnold’s victory in the female division was equally impressive, as she finished with a time of 25:23. Chad Bell and Crystal Kilheffer’s triumphs in the Masters Division with times of 25:34 and 28:40 respectively further added to the event’s celebration of athletic achievement.

Overall, the 12th Annual Shamrock Jog & Jam not only provided participants with an

opportunity to engage in healthy physical activity, but it also contributed significantly to a worthy cause, reflecting the spirit of camaraderie and support that defines the Americus community. The Scott Law Foundation has continued to support individuals facing life-threatening illnesses in Sumter and surrounding counties.
