Mr. John Walker Davidson, Sr. age 93 of Americus passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Father Jim Barton will officiate the service. The family will greet friends Wednesday following the service at the graveside and other times the residence of Lou Chase 1217 Elm Avenue in Americus.

John Walker Davidson, Sr. was born September 30, 1930 in Millen, GA. He was the son of Sidney Walker Davidson and Carrie Lou Hicks Davidson. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. Mr. Davidson retired after many years of supervising Rountree Grocery formerly in Americus. He was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Americus.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Alice Marie Bordelon Davidson; daughters and son-in-law, Donna D. Holmes (Burt) of Toccoa, GA and Carrie Lou Chase of Americus. One son and daughter-in-law, John Walker Davidson, Jr. (Stephanie) of Leesburg and four grandchildren, Zachary Holmes (Mary) of Opelika, AL, Sidney Holmes of Fairhope, AL, Sarah Smallwood (Andrew) of Clarksville, GA, Bella Davidson and one great granddaughter, Norah Smallwood.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Ann Davidson, son-in-law Tony Chase, and three sisters, Betty Margaret Caldwell, Shelby Lloyd and Barbara Roland.
