Ansley Kinnamon Monaghan of 404 Columbia Ave., Americus died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She was 63.

A service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 408 South Lee Street, on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Richard Nelson officiating. A reception in the James Bolan Lawrence Parish Hall will follow the service.

Born November 22, 1960 in Atlanta, Georgia, Ansley was the daughter of the late Barbara Hale Kinnamon and Raymond Lee Kinnamon, Sr. She was a proud graduate of Headland High School, East Point, Georgia, Class of 1979, and an enthusiastic supporter of Highlander alumni groups and reunions.

Ansley enjoyed a long career in healthcare, working in hospitals in Atlanta and Savannah, eventually retiring from human resources at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System. While living in Savannah, she sang in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church choir and served on the board of directors of the Angels of Mercy Volunteer Corps. After retirement, Ansley moved to Americus, her maternal family’s home, becoming the sixth generation of her family to reside in Sumter County.

Ansley deeply loved her family, her friends, and her community with a joyful and generous spirit that touched many lives. She enjoyed music and was an avid fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Over the years, Ansley loved and cared for many cats, including Billie, Millie, and Andy, who survive her.

In addition, Ansley is survived by her brother, Lee Kinnamon of Americus (Karen), and her nephews, Charles Hale Kinnamon of Albany and Thomas Ansley Kinnamon of Atlanta.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd., Americus, Georgia 31719.
