Today, former Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Officer, Carrie Joiner turned herself in at the Sumter County Law Enforcement Center. After a Criminal and Internal Investigation, warrants were issued for Improper Sexual Conduct and Violation of Oath of Office. Joiner’s employment with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was terminated earlier this week. Joiner has been released on bond.
Sheriff Eric D. Bryant would like to remind the citizens of Sumter County that he takes all crimes seriously and this type of behavior will not be tolerated.
