The 11U boys UCONN team went on a 23-6 run in the second half and dominated their way to a 48-33 victory over Tennessee on the first day of the Dwight Harris Boys Club (DHBC) Basketball League on Monday, June 3.

Braylon Colbert led the UCONN team with 24 points and Zachariah Jackson chipped in eight points for the Huskies in the winning cause. Both Ayden Cole and Noriel Williams also had productive outings, as they scored seven points each for UCONN.

The first half was a closely played affair between both teams, with Tennessee leading 19-13 at one point. However, the Huskies went on a 15-4 run in the second half and capped it off with a basket by Cole.

UCONN continued to add to its lead in the second half and would increase its lead to 36-25 on a three-pointer by Colbert. From that point on, the Huskies continued to dominate the Volunteers and would go on to win by the score of 48-33.

Jordan Richardson led the Volunteers in scoring with 11 points and Wayiden Wright chipped in nine points, all on three three-pointers.

DHBC League play will continue every day of the week throughout June and July at the Ninth Grade Academy on North Lee Street. The age range of the league is from six years old all the way up to adults at 28 years old. Once the regular season is over, there will be a postseason tournament in late July to determine a champion from each age group.
