Anna “Ann” P. Busby October 28, 1933 – June 6, 2024

Ann Busby was called Home by her Heavenly Father on June 6, 2024. She was born on October 28, 1933, in Moultrie, GA. Ann, age 90, was the daughter of Clarence Elmo Pate and Ellie Minerva Johnson Pate (Greene). Ann enjoyed a 31-year career at the Bank of Commerce and was known for her excellent training skills and friendly personality. She made a lasting impression as she greeted customers by name and developed friendships. Ann was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Americus, and a past member of the Morning Glory Garden Club.

She and her husband, Jack, had a passion for sharing God’s love with others and participated in 17 domestic mission trips. An excellent cook, Ann was generous in sharing her talent with friends and neighbors. After retirement, she remained active in the community while taking care of family, often watching sports with her husband and sons. Her life and her strong faith will inspire others to believe God is present in every valley and on every mountain top.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her beloved spouse of 69 years, Robert J. “Jack” Busby; brothers Derward Eugene Pate, Daniel Dean Pate and William Hicks Greene; and sisters, Mary Pate Baker and Martha Pate Van Landingham. Her memory will be forever cherished by her two devoted sons, Rob Busby and Matt Busby. She is also survived by a brother, Franklin Monroe Greene (Carolyn) of Mobile, AL and a number of nieces and nephews.

A ceremony to honor and celebrate Ann’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Americus on June 10, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Sam Harper, Rev. Keith Parks, Rev. Mike Truitt, and Rev. Rusty Mauldin will participate in the service. A graveside service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Jack.
