Barbara Montgomery recently gave an interview about the opening of her new boutique called Beyoutiful Boutique. Montgomery works with her daughter Heather Singley and her sister Brandi Underwood. She talked about how they had been inspired to open the boutique: “We like shopping at boutiques and sometimes when each one of us go, there might be sizes for one of us, but not sizes for all of us [because] we are all different sizes, and so that was one of the things that we thought, well, if we can open up a boutique that way any woman can come in, whether she’s petite, or she’s curvy, that she should be able to find something.”

She mentioned carrying a collection of Myra bags, concealed carry purses, and jewelry. She also mentioned they carry Levi’s along with a broad range of other brands.

Montgomery talked about their journey to their current location. “Well, we actually opened last year, we opened on MLK, but then we had the opportunity to buy this building and renovate it, because we wanted to be in downtown Americus. We love downtown Americus and so now we can participate in the First Fridays and any type of event that Americus has for the whole community.” They are currently located at 131 Cotton Avenue, having opened at that location the First Friday of the previous month.

Montgomery talked about the inspiration for their name, Beyoutiful. “And the reason that we came up with that is because a lot of times we don’t see the beauty in our own self. . . it’s easy to see it in other people, but you can be you and still be Beyoutiful.”

Montgomery talked about the effort to transition the building into something new. “It took a lot of people a lot of hard work to get it changed over from a service station where you changed the oil at into a boutique.”
