AMERICUS — Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lee Lurry London of 311 Vista Drive, Americus, Ga., who passed on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at Bethesda Baptist Church. The Rev. Fer-Rell Malone will officiate and burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Cairo, Ga. The remains will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the services.
Mrs. Annie Lee Lurry London was born March 28, 1931, in Cairo, Grady County, Ga., to the parentage of the late Ivary Lurry and the late Mrs. Cora Hadley Lurry. She was employed and retired as director of the Wild Street Day Care Center of Americus, Ga. She was a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church of Americus where she served as a deaconess. She was active in the community and served as a member of the Women’s Literacy Club, City Federation of the Colored Women’s Club, NAACP, Americus Cancer Society, Women’s Civic & Social Circle Club and donated regularly to the Disabled Veterans Association.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Theodore Roosevelt London; two sons, Mr. Adrian London and Mr. Kalvin (Linda) London; two daughters, Ms. Sylvia London Ward and Ms. Alva London; a daughter-in-law, Ms. Geraldine London; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a god daughter, Kimberly Petty, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
