Bob C. Clark

AMERICUS — Bob C. Clark, 83, of Americus, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. He was born Dec.  17, 1934, in Cleveland, Ark., to the late William H. Clark and Edna Clark.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus.

Mr. Clark came to Georgia Southwestern on Sept. 1, 1969, and served as athletic director from 1978-1994. He served as president of the GIAC from 1980-1981, 1983-1984, 1987-1988, and 1991-1992, and was Athletic Director of the Year for the years 1989-1990, and 1993-1994. He also coached cross country and track, and was the Physical Education Department Chair from 1978-1992. On Oct. 5, 1996, he was inducted into the Georgia Southwestern Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Dave West of Americus; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Jack Carmichael of Rogers, Ark.; brother and sister-in-law, James and Irene Clark of Conway, Ark.; and two grandchildren: Tobi West, and Cole West and his wife Annalogan. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Clark of Montgomery, Ala.
