COLUMBUS —The River Valley Area Agency on Aging is participating in Home for the Holidays, a national campaign led by the Eldercare Locator, the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) and the U.S. Administration for Community Living in partnership with the National Alliance for Caregiving. The goal of the campaign is to ensure that older adults and their caregivers are aware of the many local resources available in communities around the country to support individuals who are caring for family members and friends who do not live nearby.
Launched every year during the holiday season, Home for the Holidays encourages discussion of important issues affecting older Americans at a time of the year when family and friends often gather. The new consumer brochure that is the centerpiece of this year’s campaign, Caring Across the Miles: Resources for Long-Distance Caregivers, provides long-distance caregivers with tools and resources that may help them better support their loved ones from afar. The brochure also includes a sampling of the questions the Eldercare Locator most often receives.
