Following the filing of a lawsuit by his next-door neighbors, a judge ruled this week that D.C. resident Edwin Gray is no longer allowed to smoke in the home his family has owned for nearly 50 years. Filed by his neighbors who moved in late 2014, the lawsuit claims that the family is endangered by secondhand smoke that enters their home through an entry point in a shared basement space. While Gray plans to follow the temporary ruling and now smoke outdoors, the case is presently ongoing. In addition, the neighboring couple has also asked for $500,000 in damages.
