Boy Scout Troop 226 from Mount Olive Baptist Church, Americus recently traveled to Warner Robbins and completed a one-day workshop in aviation and air traffic control. In addition to meeting the requirements for their Aviation Merit Badge, Scouts learned aerodynamics and basic physics, flight planning and basic geometry, communications and team work. During the flight simulation Scouts learned aeronautical charts/navigation and basic math, situational awareness decision making and risk assessment. Scouts also learned and simulated air traffic control using simulators.
