• Firefighters responded to Forrestside Circle to a carbon monoxide detector malfunction.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on South Lee Street which was accidentally set while changing batteries.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm at Americus-Sumter County High School South Campus, 705 Harrold Ave. No hazards were found but they found a door propped open.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Davenport Street. The homeowner advised they had no alarm system.

• Firefighters responded to gas leak on West Lester Street. They found a gas odor in the kitchen area and the pilot light was out.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Post Way which was caused by food burned on the stove.

• Firefighters responded to a smoke scare on Academy Street where they found smoke coming from an air vent.

• Firefighters responded to a report of elevated carbon monoxide on East Church Street. No hazards were found.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Oglethorpe Avenue which was triggered by cooking.

• Suzzette Boone, 49, of 922 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, and was jailed.

• Cassandra Carter, 21, of 1701 Maxwell St., Americus is charged with simple battery, and was jailed.

• Maurice D. Carter, 26, of 101-E Eastview Circle, Americus is charged with simple assault (Family Violence Act), and was jailed.

• Brandon K. Douglas, 22, of 2008 Armory Drive, Americus is charged with driving in violation of conditions of limited permit and felony obstruction, and was released on bond.

• Lorie A. Johnson, 19, of 1-27 Westside Drive, Americus is charged with criminal trespass (Family Violence Act), and was jailed.

• Joshua K. Neal, 21, of Macon is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked.

• Woodrow A. Terry Jr., 35, of 446 Dixon Drive, Ellaville is charged with simple battery (Family Violence Act), first-degree cruelty to children, kidnapping (of a minor) and obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was jailed.

• Kentavious C. Wilkerson, 20, of 440 N. Mayo St., Americus is charged with simple battery (Family Violence Act) and criminal trespass, and was jailed.

• April D. Rowell, 39, of 301 W. Main St., Plains is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Chassidy M. Russell, 21, of 807 Georgia Ave., Americus is charged with seat belt violation and expired or no registration or title.

• Lawana M. Sims, 39, of 111 Argo St., Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Anthony B. Walker, 49, of 1346 Ga. Highway 27 East, Americus is charged with violation of oath by public officer and giving inmates liquor, drugs, weapons, etc. without consent of warden, and was released on bond.

• Joseph S. Whitaker, 28, of 287 Newt Bailey Road, Americus is charged with illegal possession of controlled substance, and was jailed.
