AMERICUS — The Sumter County Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting applications for the A-TEAM program. The A-TEAM, which was launched in 2014, is an Ambassador Connection program. The team members “attack” local member businesses to show appreciation of their Chamber membership.

A-TEAM members, representing businesses throughout Sumter County, will serve as an integral part of the organization. They will assist in various activities and events with a goal of promoting the Chamber by raising awareness of all Chamber benefits and encouraging members to take advantage of those benefits and services.

The inaugural A-TEAM members are Katie Hendrickson of Citizen’s Bank of Americus, Jessi Simmons of The Hooks Agency, Tommie Thompson of Sumter County Family Connection, Whitney Kimbrough of Innovative Senior Solutions, Ambria Ridley of Days Inn, Jimmy Whaley of Century 21 Americus Realty, Trimel Holloway of Macon County Family Connections and LeeAnn Crosson of Division of Child Support Services.

The following businesses were “attacked” in 2014: Pat’s Place, Accelerated Physical Therapy, Devane Pool Supply, Gammage Print Shop, Innovative Senior Solutions, The Hooks Agency, Days Inn, Middle Flint Council on Aging, Sumter County Farm Bureau, Russ Childers CLU, Ginger Starlin State Farm, Farmer’s Seed & Feed, Global Graphics, Roberts Jewelers, Amedisys Home Health, Aimtrac, Clinic Drug Store, Southwest GA Farm Credit, Shiver Lumber Co., South Georgia Technical College and Century 21 Americus Realty. The A-TEAM also cash “mobbed” 2 Dukes BBQ and Sweet Georgia Baking Co.

A-TEAM members will serve an initial one year term, but can reapply each year. Once selected, A-TEAM members will participate in ribbon cuttings, business after hours, and A-Team Attacks. These “attacks” will take place monthly on local businesses in the community.
